Great success from the latest Brotherhood events!

The PTS Brotherhood is having a successful spring, due to the generous support of Temple members.

Our congregation's children were delighted with our first-ever Purimpalooza, and we had a tremendous turnout for the March Madness Poker tournament.

Both events not only served our community, but also raised money for Brotherhood's programming and for PTS.

Thank you, everyone!

They shoot, they score! PTS Brotherhood at the Golden State Warriors

Please join the PTS Brotherhood as we journey across the Bay to watch the Golden State Warriors basketball team pummel the Dallas Mavericks. The game is Sunday, March 30. Start time is 6:00pm.

Not only is this going to be a great game, but it's also Jewish Heritage Night at the Warriors. That means lots of goodies!

PTS Brotherhood has purchased a block of tickets (great seats, I'm told!) and has also arranged for bus transportation to/from the PTS parking lot. If you're taking the bus, you'll need to be at PTS no later than 3:30pm.

The cost is $55 per person. If you'd like to come enjoy the game with us, contact the Temple office or write to brotherhood@sholom.org. Go Warriors!

Fight malaria, save lives at the PTS Net-A-Thon

Please join Peninsula Temple Sholom for an important activity: our first-ever Net-A-Thon, a fundraiser to send anti-malarial bed nets to save childrens' lives in Darfur.

The initiative is supported by more than 300 families and friends of Peninsula Temple Sholom. Participants will shoot baskets at a local gymnasium to raise money for the special bed nets, which cost $10 each, and which are needed into parts of the world where window screens are lacking. The special bed nets are treated with insecticide, and are one of the most cost-effective ways to prevent malaria transmission.

At the Net-A-Thon, participants will not only raise money to purchase anti-malaria bed nets, but also will write letters and cards of friendship and support to children in Darfur. The event is supported by Stanford University: Members of the Stanford Marching Band will be performing at the Net-A-Thon to entertain and inspire the participants.

The Peninsula Temple Sholom Net-A-Thon will take place at Nothing But Hoops, 1881 Rollins Road, Burlingame, Calif., on Sunday, April 6, 3:00-4:30 p.m. See more on the PTS Web site.
